Berlin gets the crowds. A dozen miles northeast, the village of Baltic gets the quiet. Two of our favorite places in Holmes County sit across the street from each other there, which makes it the easiest date night we know.

Baltic Mill Winery
Drive about twenty minutes northeast to the village of Baltic. The winery fills a restored flour mill, and the old milling machinery is still there. Get a glass by the fire, and pick up a bottle of something dry and red for later.
- 6:00 p.m.
Dinner at East Main Kitchen
Walk across Main Street. The kitchen grills steaks and chops on a Big Green Egg and makes its sides from scratch, and the small dining room feels like you’ve been coming for years. Check their hours before you go.

A walk down Main Street
Baltic is small and quiet in the evening. Wander the block, browse whatever shops are still open, and take the back roads home while there’s still light on the fields.
- 8:30 p.m.
Back to your tiny home
Open the wine. At The Lux, that means the hot tub on the deck and the jacuzzi indoors. At The Scandi, it means the sauna and the fire pit. Either way, the skylight finishes the night.
