I was a suburban introvert into all things creative and beautiful, he grew up in the Short North area of Columbus, Ohio as a carpenter's son. Fifteen years later our recipe for romance is as follows:
- Intentionally go to new places and experience beauty together, it inspires gratitude for the adventure life is as a couple.
- Take advantage of the small moments, they are food to the life of your relationship.
- Make getaways together a priority even if life feels too busy, they add necessary flavor to your life together.
Romance has always been a big priority for us.
Not because we're great at it but because the way to get better is to try. We've learned over time that the work it takes to keep romance alive is worthy and important. It was apparent we had run low on ingredient number 3. Homeschooling three kids, work stresses, and everyday life had brought with it the need to getaway and be alone together as a couple.
We found an ideal place that matched both of our specific wild-eyed getaway preferences. A unique space, edgy design, cozy, romantic, with all the comforts of home. The Lux at Tiny Stays Berlin, is a romantic tiny home getaway built with us in mind, and ingredient number 1 was looking good with bonus points for unique, beautiful, intimate and fun.

Arriving from Columbus - just under two hours away -
we drove up to see the pleasant modern design of the exterior with innovative materials handsomely brought together. Coming round to the entrance we walked up the steps of a large deck with inviting chairs and a table. Coffee together, long conversations, belly laughs of the best kind all seemed highly probable and waiting for us here.

I could tell my husband was amused watching me take in the artistic design of the interior. When a space speaks to me, everything seems right in the world. Large picture windows strategically placed all over the gorgeous tiny home bring in light and immerse you in the experience of being wrapped in nature together in the most luxurious way possible. A mix of deep blue and modern mid-century gold throughout the space was wonderfully calming while reminding us of how rich we are in the gift of each other. Taking in the surroundings inspired us to plan out our adventures in the area before returning to our oasis and enjoy each other's company.

Returning from some of Kevin & Liz's favorite spots on their easy to use guidebook, we unpacked ingredients we picked out for a romantic picnic. Wine from a refurbished old flour mill turned winery, and other items we collected to prepare some of our favorite treats. It was fun preparing something other than a toddler friendly meal in the Lux's well-designed kitchen full of everything we needed.
This intimate tiny home boasts a bold and innovative bathroom. Stunning blue tile, geometric mirrors, a full size Jacuzzi tub, and a sky light created a fantastic aesthetic made complete with Liz's homemade hand soap - which smells amazing. It's here the lighting options truly deliver. I'm a big fan of romantic lighting and The Lux far from disappoints. With settings in the loft, bedroom, kitchen, living space, and bathroom, it was easy to set the scene all throughout the home for connection and romance. I'm a firm believer that you can never have too much mood lighting.

Sophisticated features at the Lux, create easy opportunities for simple moments to rekindle the sparks that tend to be dulled by the everyday responsibilities of life. The unexpected way staying in a reduced living space creates more intimacy is a fun and fascinating experience. We love the way this luxury tiny home rental does that. We experienced more rejuvenation, creativity, and connection together than we've had in a long time.

With all the quiet from being without children, I enjoyed sinking into my favorite book on the loft with its intricately crafted wood railing and cozy loveseat. My husband would claim his spot in one of the blue designer chairs next to one of the big windows - open to let in the soft breeze and evening birds. We call this our white space, each having time to wander into whatever interests us most - a book, a podcast, or a writing project. The gift of being young and in love was refreshed in glances that spoke without words as we remained in perfect view of one another in our white space spots yet as comfortable as can be.

It was difficult to leave a space that has left us altered in the way we think about spending time together. We can't wait to return to the Lux for more adventures and time together. The way this tiny home rental is set up for moments of connection and rejuvenation truly allowed us to easily nourish our relationship the way we hoped for.
